These meeting were led by the Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry with the intention to exchange views on the state of play of their negotiations and explore ways to advance the talks.

The Power of Standards for a healthier EU.

CEN and CENELEC celebrated World Health Day, commemorated 75 years since the establishment of the World Health Organisation. Many CEN and CENELEC technical committees work on a variety of healthcare areas, from CLC/TC 62 on electrical equipment in medical practice to CEN/TC 140 on in-vitro diagnostic medical devices.

ETSI Releases World’s First Protection Profile for Quantum Key Distribution.

ETSI has just released a Protection Profile (PP) for the security evaluation of quantum key distribution (QKD) modules, ETSI GS QKD 016. This Protection Profile is a first and anticipates the need for quantum safe cryptography. The ETSI specification will help manufacturers to submit pairs of QKD modules for evaluation under a security certification process.

European Commission welcomes political agreement on the European Chips Act.

The Commission welcomes the political agreement reached between the European Parliament and the EU Member States on the European Chips Act, proposed by the Commission on 8 February 2022, including on the budget.

ETSI Summit on Sustainability: ICT Standards for a Greener World.

ETSI organised a Summit on Sustainability, How ICT developments and standards can enable sustainability and have a positive impact on society, in a hybrid format. The ETSI Summit focused on the key role of the ICT industry and related standardization activities to support Green initiatives.
