Presentations of SESEI expert was invited by E&ICT Academy of NIT Warangal and ECE Department of RajaRajeswari College of Engineering, Bangalore to give a lecture on Standards work around AI. SESEI expert used this opportunity and gave a presentation on “European/Global Standards in AI for Wireless Communication and Sensor Networks”.
BIS Webinar on “IT and IT Enabled Services – Opportunities and Standardization
As the National Standards Body of India, Bureau of Indian Standards took the initiative to create awareness about the importance of IT & ITeS and started standardization activities under IT and IT enabled Services sectional committee, SSD 10. As one of the promotional drives, BIS organised a Webinar on ‘IT and IT Enabled Services – Opportunities and Standardization’. SESEI was invited by BIS as a key speaker to share his knowledge and expertise on “Global perspective of standardization in IT and IT enabled Services”. SESEI shared slides to cover topic of “Global Perspective of Standardization in IT and IT Enabled Services” and provides updates from CEN-CENELEC-ISO/IEC/JTC1 etc. and EC on Generic Services.
Webinar on “World of Standards: IoT/M2M & Emerging Technologies on 10 August 2021
SESEI was approached by the Invest India to share his knowledge and expertise in the domain of IoT Standardisation both in India as well as Europe and Globally. SESEI also engaged TEC and C-DOT in the webinar to provide comprehensive information on the IoT standards, its deployment etc. to the Invest India and Ministry of Electronics and Technology Officials. During the webinar speakers SESEI, Mr. Sushil Kumar, Director IoT, TEC and Mr. Aurindam Bhattacharya, GL C-DOT, presented and shared updates around M2M/IoT activities, National Standards and Platform Pilot etc.
Online Faculty Development Program on LI-FI Technologies and Applications on 15 April 2021
SESEI Expert was invited by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST) to speak on current standardization activities & LI-FI Technologies and Applications. SESEI expert gave a presentation on “Global Standards: Research & Innovation – VLC/Li-Fi” covering: About Project SESEI, ETSI, 3GPP and Standards and Research (Horizon 2020 research programe on LiFi technology).
Future of Standardization in the ICT Industry on 27 April 2021
Marie KRPATA and Olivier KACZMAR, students at the IRIS Sup, one of the major think tanks in France also providing training to professionals, requested SESEI expert to provide information on India’s role in the international standard setting ecosystem in the face of geopolitical evolutions as regards technology. SESEI expert used this opportunity and shared a presentation covering About European Project SESEI, Main Indian Standardisation Bodies in Indian ICT sector (BIS, TSDSI & TEC) and New Approach/ Key Initiatives of the Indian Gov. in ICT sector etc.

India Smart Utility Week 2021 on 02 – 05 March 2021
The 7th Edition of ISGF’s Annual Event – an International Conference and Exhibition on Smart Energy and Mobility for Smarter Cities – India Smart Utility Week (ISUW 2021) was scheduled from 2nd to 5th March 2021 on Digital Platform. An IEC-IEEE World Smart Energy Standardisation Workshop was conducted as part of at ISUW. CEN-CENELEC participated in the ISUW 2021, shared expert knowledge on smart energy standards.

The Global ICT Standardization Forum for India (GISFI) is an Indian standardization body active in the area of ICT and related application areas, such as energy, telemedicine, wireless robotics, biotechnology. 6G Knowledge Laboratory Opening & 36th Virtual GISFI Workshop took place on December 20-21,2020. SESEI expert attended the workshop as a key speaker and shared information around 5G Standardization, Emerging technologies, ETSI long term strategy & Beyond 5G, 6G: European Initiatives.
5G India 2020: Virtual Conference & Exhibition
The 4th successive edition of 5G India 2020 Virtual Conference & Exhibition was organized by Bharat Exhibitions (BE) on November 4, 2020. SESEI expert shared a presentation on “5G Standardization” covering standardization work being carried out in 3GPP and ETSI.
TSDSI Roadmap [Online] Workshop
TSDSI is in the process of preparing its Roadmap 2.0 for the next 3 Years by incorporating inputs from a variety of stakeholders. For this purpose, TSDSI organized “2nd edition of the Roadmap workshop” on 30th September 2020. SESEI expert attended webinar as a speaker and gave a presentation on ETSI long term strategy 2016-21.
DoT: Virtual Training Session for Indian Telecom Service (ITS) Probationers
Department of Telecom (DoT) organized a virtual training session for recently recruited Indian Telecom Service (ITS) probationers on the various International and national standardization bodies and their standardization activities. 6th National Standards Conclave: 15-16 Jan 2020, Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India in collaboration with Export Inspection Council of India (EIC), the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Accreditation Board for Certification bodies (NABCB), and the Centre for WTO Studies (CWTOs) organized the 6th National Standards Conclave with the theme “Standards for Trade Facilitation”. The 14th episode of IET India Digital Conversations on ‘Clearing the 5G obstacle course in India’ was a huge success. In this Webinar ETSI collaborated through Project IndiCo to promote 5G Technologies work being done at ETSI. Mr. Adrian Scrase, COO ETSI participated as one of the key speakers at the webinar.
CII 28th Quality Summit on 27-28 December, 2020
CII Institute of Quality initiative, holds an Annual Summit to discuss business and product information across the entire spectrum of quality related products and services and provide excellent opportunities for potential business engagement. Mr. Wim De Kesel , Chairman India TaskForce, CEN CENELEC was one of the esteemed speakers at the CII Annual Quality Summit. He shared his expertise on – European perspective on the need for harmonization of standards – New Legislative Framework ( NLF) – Harmonised European Norms (hENs) – Benefits of the new legislative framework – Benefits of Harmonised European Norms – International Cooperation – Cooperation between CENCENLEC and BIS and way forward for ESOs and India to work together.
