ID Tech and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has signed MoU to identify and enhance joint research and development in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Under this MoU, IITRPR and ID Tech will jointly work on value creation for major Government initiatives across smart cities, as well as for the logistics and transportation domain, by leveraging advanced technologies.
The Union Cabinet has approved the MoU between India and Finland for collaborating based on mutual interest in the field of Biotechnology, for funding and implementing ambitious industry-led innovative and transnational projects within the broad scope of research development and innovation. The MoU will support creation of long-term R&D and Innovation collaboration mechanism and to strengthen cooperative network between Indian and Finnish organizations.
Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC) has been asked to finalize standards for IoT/M2M as the country aspires to roll out 5G services at par with the rest of the world. The roadmap for M2M communications was released in May 2015 but the centre is yet to finalize generic requirement for the segment. So far, TEC has released Twelve Technical Reports (TRs) in the last three years.
