5G Standardization workshop was organized on the occasion of 5th year celebration of the Global ICT Standardization Forum for India (GISFI). GISFI announced 5G standardization activity back in December of 2012. GISFI concept of 5G is named as WISDOM (Wireless Innovative System for Dynamic Operating MegaCommunications) – a communication system for ubiquitous trustworthy human-centric connectivity via an arbitrary infrastructure support. SESEI attended the GISFI workshop on 5G standardization and 5 year celebration. In brief update is as below with a detailed report as enclosed.
- The Seminar comprised of university professors, officials of Department of Telecommunications and students doing PHDs from GISFI connected/sponsored Universities.
- Prof. Ramjee Prasad, founding Chairman of GISFI, released a book authored by him titled “A Step Towards 5G Communications”. This book provides views of the 5G and hence views on the potential standardization scenarios.
- Professor Sandip Inamdar [ Trustee GISFI, Secretary Vishwaniketan’s Institute of Management Entrepreneurship and Engineering Technology (V-iMEET) during his speech announced that GISFI will be self-sustainable and 50 PHDs have been awarded already through GISI program.
- Sr. DDG TEC Mr. A.K.Mittal and other member of TEC participated in the seminar and presented their requirement and prospective from 5G subject in India.
